JOB PURPOSE: The Director of Financial Operations will work with the urology Managing Partner and corporate Director of Finance, to manage the fiscal functions of the urology division. The Director of Financial Operations will also facilitate new business development initiatives for urology.


  • Work with urology Managing Partner to plan, develop, implement, and evaluate the fiscal function and performance of urology.
  • Develop fiscal plans and budgets including projections of all revenues and expenditures.  Provide timely and accurate analysis of budgets, financial reports and financial trends in order to assist the Managing Partner.
  • Pull requested and/or necessary data, perform financial modeling, prepare and present useful financial statements and other operating reports on a regular basis.
  • Review provider monthly summaries and receipts
  • Meet regularly with Billing Manager to obtain/review reports and correct any billing issues
  • Educate urology supervisors on financial issues impacting their department budgets.
  • Provide strategic financial input and leadership on decision making issues affecting urology such as evaluation of new initiatives, potential alliances, and other business development projects.
  • Develop plans to operationalize new initiatives and coordinate with urology Director of Operations and Nursing Supervisor to implement.
  • Develop a reliable cash flow projection process and reporting mechanism which includes minimum cash threshold to meet operating needs.
  • Monitor daily cash flow (i.e., collections, distributions, and other funding).
  • Coordinate with legal advisors on matters pertaining to the business, properties, agreements, new initiatives, etc.
  • Manage contractual relationships and act as an advisor on any contracts, into which urology may enter, including hospital and vendor contracts
  • Collaborate with Director of Corporate Administration to facilitate the purchase of new equipment, negotiate and track equipment contracts and leases, including property leases.
  • Prepare financial and other information for urology partner meeting presentations.
  • Serve as a resource for urology management and physicians regarding operational and financial issues.
  • Respond to requests from urology physicians and provide assistance as appropriate (ie: attaining signatures on documents, etc.)          


  • Bachelor’s degree in Finance, Accounting or Business, MBA degree preferred; and 8 - 10 years related experience; or equivalent combination of education and experience.
  • Sound technical skills, analytical ability, good judgment and strong operational focus.
  • Strong excel skills
  • Ability to effectively present information and respond to questions from physicians, staff and patients.
  • Strong communication skills and the ability to relate to and influence people at all levels of the organization.
  • Ability to function effectively in a team setting
